When designing a website for mobile devices, it is essential to consider the user experience. With a “regular” desktop site, you can have lots of text, images, forms, links and perhaps, Flash. However, regular sites, when viewed on a mobile device, can sometimes be frustrating for the user - the long load times, lots of scrolling and the enlarging and reducing needed to navigate a page, never mind moving around the site. When people surf the web via a mobile device, they typically want to quickly access information that is to the point and contact information that is easily accessed.
Our Mobile Web Design Process
To facilitate the user experience on a mobile site, Panda Concepts reduces the use of text and images to the essentials and removes all Flash (because some phones cannot handle it at this time). The text is easy to read - no enlarging needed. The clickable buttons are spaced so that even big fingers can click on links without accidently hitting the wrong one.
To reach your site, customers type in your regular domain name, and the device’s browser automatically redirects the user to the mobile version of your site. They are taken to your mobile web home page that is easy to read and right to the point.
Viewing Your Mobile Site on the iPhone
Your contact information is iPhone friendly. iPhone users can click on your phone number, and the phone automatically dials it for them. They can click on the email button to send an email or click on “Map” to find your location. If they still want to access your regular site, they can by clicking on “Regular Site.”
